Top... Men...

Today I took a little time out to delve into the Thalamus archives (otherwise known as 'a mountain of boxes in the shed') in order to find my old Perplexity notes and level designs. Part of me was worried that these were binned somewhere along the way, but to my delight I found them, along with a whole host of interesting bits and pieces, including:

  • The Thalamus logos I enlarged using a photocopier in order to draw the big Thalamus logo (used in Creatures 2 and Winter Camp).
  • My initial sketches for the Winter Camp loading screen.
  • My notes for the Search for Sharla end sequence.
  • A paper design for a SEUCK game called Timelord which my friend and classmate Philip Roberts created some 25 years ago.
  • A design for an original strategy game which I cannot for the life of me remember creating.

I also discovered my designs for a game tentatively titled Neutron, which involves balancing out positive and negative charges in order to avoid an overload. Think Citadel meets Paradroid meets "Z" and you might have a rough idea of what the game would be like to play. When Perplexity is done and dusted, perhaps Neutron might be a suitable follow-up project...
